Revision activities / German study practice
Learning focus: Writing. This original Grade 11 German exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.
Understand the idea
A short profile should use sentence patterns the learner understands. Review spelling and capitalisation, especially nouns, before adding more detail.
Try the activity
Write three model sentences saying your name is Amina, you live in Nairobi and you enjoy reading.
Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning
Ich heiße Amina. Ich wohne in Nairobi. Ich lese gern. These sentences use the first-person subject ich and matching verb forms.
Follow-up challenge
Replace the name and place with fictional details and add a teacher-checked interest. Compare your draft with the model and explain each change.
Review your work
- Did you answer the question actually asked?
- Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
- What would you change if one condition in the task changed?
Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
