German practice tasks

German Introduction Dialogue Practice

Learning area: Listening and Speaking. A spoken introduction combines a greeting with information appropriate to the situation. Practise meaning and pronunciation rather than memorising sounds alone.

German Reading Comprehension Task

Learning area: Reading. A short German passage can be understood by identifying the subject, verb and key information. Answer from the passage before making assumptions.

German Short Profile Writing Exercise

Learning area: Writing. A short profile should use sentence patterns the learner understands. Review spelling and capitalisation, especially nouns, before adding more detail.

German Present Tense Agreement Practice

Learning area: Grammar. German present-tense endings depend on the subject, and some verbs change their stem. Start with a regular verb before comparing irregular patterns.

How to use the German guide

  1. Choose a task from a topic already covered in class.
  2. Write your own response before opening the answer guidance.
  3. Compare the method and reasoning, not only the final answer.
  4. Complete the follow-up challenge and record one point to revisit.

Plan your next revision session

Keep a short record with the activity name, date, what you could do independently and what still needs explanation. Return to an earlier task after a gap to check whether you can apply the idea without looking at the model response. Work with a teacher or study partner when your interpretation differs from the suggested answer.
