Revision activities / Arabic study practice
Learning focus: Reading. This original Grade 11 Arabic exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.
Understand the idea
Reading practice should connect written words to meaning and grammatical clues. Begin with a short passage and answer only from the information supplied.
Try the activity
Read: هذا كتاب. الكتاب جديد. Identify the object and the description given.
Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning
The object is a book and it is described as new. هذا كتاب means This is a book; الكتاب جديد means The book is new.
Follow-up challenge
Copy the sentences carefully, underline the noun and identify the describing word. Explain which information comes from the text and which details, such as the book’s colour, are not given.
Review your work
- Did you answer the question actually asked?
- Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
- What would you change if one condition in the task changed?
Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
