Revision activities / CRE study practice
Learning focus: The Old Testament. This original Grade 11 CRE exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.
Understand the idea
A comparison should identify the passage, its historical or narrative setting and the evidence used for each claim. Avoid treating every biblical leader as having the same role.
Try the activity
Compare Moses’ response to a leadership challenge with that of another Old Testament figure studied in class. What should a strong comparison include?
Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning
Name the relevant passages, describe each challenge accurately and explain the action taken. Identify a similarity and a difference supported by the text. Distinguish the passage’s account from your personal application.
Follow-up challenge
Create a two-column evidence table and add verse references from your class Bible. A quotation should support an explanation rather than replace it.
Review your work
- Did you answer the question actually asked?
- Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
- What would you change if one condition in the task changed?
Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
