Revision activities / CRE study practice
Learning focus: Church in Action. This original Grade 11 CRE exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.
Understand the idea
Church in Action can be explored through a concrete service activity, its purpose, beneficiaries and accountability. A claim about impact needs evidence.
Try the activity
A church starts a food-support project. Suggest four questions for evaluating whether the project serves the community fairly.
Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning
Ask how needs are identified, how beneficiaries are selected, how food and funds are recorded, and how feedback or complaints are handled. Consider dignity and inclusion when describing assistance.
Follow-up challenge
Design an anonymous feedback form using non-sensitive questions. Explain how a service project can be improved without publishing recipients’ private circumstances.
Review your work
- Did you answer the question actually asked?
- Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
- What would you change if one condition in the task changed?
Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
