Grade 11 Paramatma Concept Explanation Activity

Revision activities / HRE study practice

Learning focus: Manifestation of Paramatma. This original Grade 11 HRE exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.

Understand the idea

A religious-studies explanation should use terms carefully and recognise the tradition and source being discussed. Hindu interpretations can differ across schools and communities.

Try the activity

Prepare a short explanation of Paramatma based on a class-approved source. What should it include?

Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning

Define the term as taught in the selected source, describe the relevant teaching and explain its significance. Identify the text or tradition rather than assuming every Hindu school uses identical language or interpretation.

Follow-up challenge

Create a concept map linking the key term to a textual example and an application. Ask your teacher to review the terminology and avoid reducing a theological idea to an unsupported slogan.

Review your work

  • Did you answer the question actually asked?
  • Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
  • What would you change if one condition in the task changed?

Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
