Grade 11 Peer Pressure Decision-Making Activity

Revision activities / Community Service Learning study practice

Learning focus: Life Skills Education. This original Grade 11 Community Service Learning exercise gives you a task, a suggested response and a follow-up challenge. It is classroom practice, not an official assessment paper.

Understand the idea

A reasoned personal decision identifies the pressure, considers consequences and chooses a response consistent with safety and values. Assertive communication is clear without being aggressive.

Try the activity

Friends ask a learner to share another person’s private photograph. Draft a respectful refusal and suggest a constructive next step.

Attempt your response before opening the guidance. Show the steps, textual evidence or reasons that support your answer; a final answer alone may hide a misunderstanding.

Show suggested answer and reasoning

A suitable refusal is: I will not share someone’s private photo without permission. Please stop forwarding it. A constructive next step is to support the affected learner and seek help from a trusted adult if harassment continues.

Follow-up challenge

Compare passive, aggressive and assertive responses. Explain which response protects privacy while reducing escalation; do not use real classmates’ names or photographs.

Review your work

  • Did you answer the question actually asked?
  • Can you explain the method or evidence in your own words?
  • What would you change if one condition in the task changed?

Use the suggested response to identify one correction, then attempt the task again without copying it. For an open-ended question, other well-supported answers may be reasonable. Ask your teacher to check interpretations or language forms where needed.
